Almost Works
I installed the siverlight for mac and movie still sits telling me to install silverlight.Please Fix this!
Offers no advantage at all. Requires Silverlight, which doesn’t respect my privacy, and if I wanted Silverlight, I could just watch Netflix on my browser. A total disappointment.
This is the first netflix app that I’ve purchased that doesn’t redirect the video to a browser. I’ve only played around with it for a few minutes, but I’m very impressed with it. I love how the video can be “always on top” and the video quality is great. The only recommendation would be to have an option to control the app from a dock icon, and not the menu bar, but that’s just a personal preference that doesn’t take away from how good the app actually is. Five stars for actually doing everything that’s in the description. Going to check out some more of their apps. :)
crash when opening?
app doesn’t open :( icon shows up in menu bar for a second and then disappears. please fix!
I love this app! It plays the netflix movies and tv shows right in the app and I can even put it in the background and just listen to the audio while I’m working. Great app!

I feel very fortunate to have actually happened upon the app that works with my Netflix account. I signed in to my Netflix account and seemlessly began to watch Mad Men. So happy to have scored the right app the first time. Smooth sailing!
When i copy link through the app it ask for a microsoft version of silverlight and I cant install it the safari version does not work with it making it useless. The app does nothing at all

Don’t buy! once you click on a movie to watch, it directs you to install microsoft silverlight!!!! That’s the whole reason I bought the app so I didn’t have to install anything microsoft!
Overall, seems to work great. Only minor confusion was that it pops as a menu bar app - which wasn’t originally expected.. This isn’t something that I’d want running all the time - just start it when I need it. But, it seems to run very well! Great job.
This is the first negative review I have ever written. So far I have purchased 106 apps from the App Store. The app opens without issue and I am able to connect to Netflix okay. Anytime I try to play a movie I am prompted to install Microsoft Silverlight, which I already have installed. No problem, I click on the button to install it but nothing happens. I wait patiently to see if it may be downloading/installing in the background. Nothing. I connect to Netflix with Safari and play a video with no problem. It too requires Silverlight, but like I said, it was already installed. I again right-clicked on the button to install Microsoft Silverlight, selected "Copy Link" and downloaded it with Safari. It installed successfully. Now I know I have the precise version it wants. This app still wants it installed before playing anything. I restarted my Mac to ensure that everything is loaded properly and that all apps should be aware of the resources available. Still no love from this app. I followed the support link here to their site. There is no hint of support there. I have tried everythng to get this app to cooperate, following best practices for troubleshooting this type of problem, but to no avail. There is no explanation other than this one is a dud and a rip-off. Im glad I only spent $1.99 for it.
Requires Microsoft Silverlight (probably a Netflix requirement). Initially, I tried running the app with Silverlight already installed, but the app doesn’t recognize it. I tried uninstalling Silverlight, restarting, and launching the app again. The app asks to install Silverlight, but the “Install" button doesn’t do anything. Even the button for “Detailed Installation Instructions” is non functional.
